I stayed in Alma during a bike tour along WI-35 (The Great River Road) from St. Paul to Winona, MN. The town and Tritsch House is charming, pleasant AND above and beyond friendly. When I had bike trouble, Johnny helped me out by calling his friends for advice, driving me to the gas station to use the air pump and eventually drove me to Fountain City to the nearest bike shop. What began as a problem later became a highlight of the trip, because I got to spend more time in a great little town with superb company.

We loved the place! The rooms were nice and clean, the place has a great history. Johnny truly opened the house to us. His breakfasts are great especially with the peppered bacon he uses.

Got a super last minute room - considering this, Johnny was very accommodating. No one else was staying at the time so we got to pick our favorite room, which was decently nice, cozy, and had a jacuzzi. Knock off one star since we didn't see the owner again after the initial tour/registration. Also, he gave us the weekday rate instead of the weekend one since we didn't get breakfast the next day. I suppose this is reasonable, but it was still a little expensive ($120). But I can't be too picky since, like I said, we didn't show up until 9pm the night of.

Well run, beautiful and charming house. Thanks!

Johnny welcomed us with open arms like family! Gave a tour, showed us our room (Walser room), and if we needed anything to just text or call him. Sunday morning mimosas and a delicious breakfast he made started our Sunday on a great step. Monday morning his dad, Tom, was there to greet us in the morning and had breakfast ready for us again. Bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, toast/bagels, juice. We were so full! We will certainly be going back again!
