We visited Danzinger Winery on our recent trip down the great river road wine trail. We initially missed this winery but decided to backtrack to it the next morning. WOW so glad we did as this was the best winery we visited. We visited with Mr. Danzinger the owner as we did our tasting and he is a great story teller. Anyone that has visited a winery knows that you can have great wines but when the owner also can tell the story of the wine you know you have found a winner. Its a long ways from Kansas City to Alma but I would make the trip again just to visit this one winery. Just wish we would have bought more bottles while we were there!!!

My wife and I visited Danzinger Winery while doing a handful of the wineries on the Great River Road Wine Trail. We knew that we wouldn't have time to do them all, so we picked a few and cut out others (largely based on online reviews). We nearly skipped this one, just because it was a little off-path and not particularly close to the others on the trail. We were so glad we didn't because this was by far our favorite of the day. The staff was friendly, the wines are excellent (we even bought a few bottles), and the view is great. For anyone else also considering doing a select few on the Trail, do not skip this one!
Nice place, friendly staff, really good spinach dip. Great wine and the view from the patio is beautiful. Just sit and enjoy it all.
